Nasi Ayam @ Singapore Chicken Rice - Api - Api Centre

Restoran Singapore Chicken Rice underwent a major facelift operation a few months ago and turned itself into a nice, bright and clean eating establishment, which includes some booth seating. The name gives it away as to what's in store, as well as some added noodle and vegetable options. I opted for the fried chicken and rice, though I'm sure it's roasted??? Never mind, it's very tasty all the same, rice is pretty good and with ginger and chilli sambals on the table it's a sure fire winner for me!

SCR is located in the Api - Api Centre, next door to Mc D's.

The Bill : 1x Nasi Ayam, 1x Ice Lemon Tea = 8.30 MYR

Honey Chicken Rice @ A1 Chicken Rice - Jalan Lintas

Super sweet and super tasty is what I've got to say about the Honey Chicken Rice I ate at A1 Chicken Rice earlier today. A1 specialises in, you guessed it, chicken rice and offers chicken cooked in a variety of ways. My BBQ chicken was sweet and smoky and covered in sesame seeds, delicious! The garlic infused rice was really good too, all round a very enjoyable meal, I'll be back for sure.

A1 Chicken Rice is located inside Kedai Kopi Taman Cantik along Jalan Lintas, it's on the same block as Kedai Kopi K.S.

The Bill : 1x Honey Chicken Rice, 1x Chinese Teh Ping = 6 MYR

Delicious chicken rice, infact it's A1!

Nasi Ayam @ Balak - Perdana Park

Dinner tonight, well exceeded my expectations! I don't know why but I didn't expect much from chicken and rice at a park, how wrong I was! Balak serve up  great tasting and well presented nasi ayam, not only that but because Perdana Park is well maintained and clean it's also a great place to sit outdoors and enjoy the surroundings. Steamed and roasted chicken were available so we ordered one of each, I had the steamed. The chicken breast was smooth and tasty, placed on top of cucumber slices and dressed in soy. The rice was super tasty, infused with chicken broth, ginger and garlic, talking of ginger, I really love it when ginger sambal is served with nasi ayam along with chilli, my luck was definitely in tonight! Also worth a mention was the presentation, a simple idea that made the meal look more appetizing, Balak serve nasi ayam in a basket on top of brown grease proof paper and a square of banana leaf, it doesn't sound like much but looks quite impressive, top marks!

The Little Nibbler ordered the roast chicken, which gives the meat a different flavour, plus who doesn't like yummy roasted chicken skin? Thumbs up all round, two happy diners tonight!

Balak 'Malaysian Modern Stall' is located within Perdana Park next door to Speggi's.

Chicken Rice @ H&H Chicken Hut - Grace Point Food Court

Grace Point Food Court is not normally on my list of daytime eating venues but as I was picking up some bread from the excellent Breads & More I decided to kill two birds with one stone and have lunch as well! After walking the circuit to see what was on offer I decided on Chicken Rice from H&H Chicken Hut. As well as chicken rice there's also other dishes on offer with a definite 'chicken theme', stir fried veggies are available too. I opted for tasty roasted chicken with rice, this came with soup plus a portion each of chilli and ginger sambal. As you can see from above it all arrived on a big plate and I for one really liked the presentation, taste wise the food was spot on, top marks all round!

Chicken Rice & BBQ Pork @ 5 Star Hainanese Chicken Rice & BBQ Pork - Jalan Gaya

5 Star Hainanese Chicken Rice & BBQ Pork are famous for their signature dishes in KK and are well placed around town. Funnily enough this was our first visit to this coffee shop, and I don't really know why! As newbies there was nothing else to do but have their namesake dishes, I opted for the Hainanese Chicken Rice, silky smooth chicken dressed with soy and cucumber slices served with infused rice and chilli sauce. Very tasty indeed, I'll be back for sure!

BBQ Pork Rice for The Little Nibbler, the sauce with the pork deserves a special mention as it was savoury, sweet and yummy! The same delicious infused rice was served with the pork. Two happy diners looking forward to their next visit!

CNY celebrations are in full swing along Jalan Gaya.

With several branches around town this one is located on Jalan Gaya.

The Bill : 1x Chicken Rice, 1x BBQ Pork Rice, 2x Kitchai Ping = 16.50 MYR

Chicken Rice @ Plus One Raihan Chicken Rice - Centre Point

Centre Point's Food Court is a great place to grab a bargain lunch and Plus One Raihnan Chicken Rice is probably the best bargain to be had in the whole place, and quite possibly in the whole of KK for that matter! For 2.70 MYR you get a good portion of tasty rice and chicken, sweet chilli sambal and soup. There's no plates here but who cares at this price who can complain! Not me that's for sure!!! I've paid a lot more for a lot less, not just in quantity but in quality of taste too!

Located in the basement of Centre Point, there's no missing the crowds here.

The Bill : 1x Nasi Ayam = 2.70 MYR

The best 2.70 Ringgit you'll spend by far, lah!!!

Vietnamese Food @ Peppermint - Jalan Gaya

Everytime I go to Peppermint, no matter which branch, spicy chicken rice seems to be the most popular order. So today was my turn to join the masses! The portion of chicken was deep fried, chopped then topped with spicy chilli sauce, there were also some cucumber slices. The chicken tasted pretty good though in my opinion the Pho (which is my favourite dish here) is better!

The Little Nibbler opted for the beef stew with rice, this was very good, the meat had obviously been slow cooked making the stew very rich in taste.

This is Peppermint's Jalan Gaya branch.

The Bill : 1x Spicy Chicken Rice, 1x Beef Stew Rice, 2x Ice Lemon Tea = 18.60 MYR

A taste of Vietnam!

Chicken Rice @ Hing's Corner Chicken Rice - Suria Food Court

Chicken Rice was the order of the day today. Remembering that Hing's Corner was pretty good the first time around (pre-blog) I thought I'd give it another try! With steam Chicken, honey Chicken and gizzards on offer I decided to go for a mix (without the gizzards I have to add!) Both types of Chicken were very good indeed though for me the honey BBQ was the tastiest with it's sweet, smoky flavour. The rice is pretty tasty too, I almost ordered satu lagi, it was that good! Ginger, Chilli and Sweet Soy are great accompaniments to go with this delicious dish all washed down with an Ice Milo, perfect!

Entrance to the food court at Suria Sabah, on the third floor.

Queues starting to form.

Nasi Ayam @ Wiya Nasi Ayam Dan Kedai Kopi - Downtown

This place needs no introduction to the fine people of KK. Wiya Nasi Ayam Dan Kedai Kopi is a famous Chicken Rice place in the heart of the downtown area, and rightly so. The chicken is smooth and velvety seasoned with soy and served with slices of cucumber. The rice is just excellent and served in a pyramid shape which makes the dish more pleasing to look at, and of course you get a bowl of tasty broth. I also really like the chilli sauce they serve here too!

As I've said Wiya Nasi Ayam is located downtown on the front side of the Segama shop lots. 'Wiya's' also serve Dim Sum until 10.30 in the morning, though I've yet to try it!

The Bill = 1x Nasi Ayam, 1x Chinese Teh Ping = 6.50 MYR

Joining the crowds here at lunch is a decision well made!

Nasi Ayam & Snacks @ Wishbone - Jalan Gaya

I wasn't feeling too hungry this evening so I opted for snacks while The Nibbler enjoyed Wishbone's Nasi Ayam. No complaints here, everything was nice and tasty, or so I was told, I'll just have to come back and try for myself sometime soon!

Now these are no ordinary Curry Puffs, oh no! These are Giant Curry Puffs and wow were they good! Chicken curry, potatoes, and a slice of egg come inside these whoppers.

I also tried their Pisang Goreng with Gula Malacca Ice Cream (did I say I wasn't hungry?) They were ok nothing special but I did like the deep caramel flavoured ice cream.

Cold refreshing ice blended Mango drinks.

Wishbone is a bright, clean restaurant located along Jalan Gaya open in the daytime as well as in the evening.

The Bill :

Lots of dishes to tempt during all hours of the day and evening too!
