Noodles @ Boston - Karamunsing Capital

Boston's been around for a while now, we hadn't eaten here for quite a long time, probably before I started blogging, so we thought we'd return and see if it was as good as we remembered. There's quite a large menu to choose from that ranges from noodles and rice dishes to western sizzler plates and snacks, with a large choice of drinks too. I fancied something spicy and filling so the chicken curry noodles caught my attention, looked great in the menu, a little less so in real life but tasted good and hit the spot, the chicken drumstick must have come from some monster chicken, it was huge! Also in the bowl came beancurd puffs, fishcake slices, beansprouts, choy sum, fresh red chilli slices topped with Chinese chives and fried shallots.

Fried keow teow is quite possibly The Little Nibbler's favourite style of noodle, apart from kon lau mee, and here it comes fried with beef tenderloin. The meat was very tasty and not at all chewy, cooked in a hot wok to give that savoury, smoky taste along with noodles, egg, red chilli, beansprouts and a little green veggie. We both had an Ice Chocolate which was ok, nothing special, but we both enjoyed our noodles!

Boston's a fairly large restaurant offering inside and outside tables at Karamunsing Capital.

Keow Teow Goreng @ Borneo Treasure Restaurant - Marketplace 88

Another first for us, here at Borneo Treasure Restaurant and it's fair to say we definitely will be returning! Strangely enough we both ordered Keow Teow Goreng tonight, mine with salted bean and chilli with seafood. Salted bean it turns out is in fact black bean and very tasty it was too, though for me possibly a bit more chilli was needed! Fish and prawns were fried along with peppers and onions then doused on top of keow teow noodles.

The Little Nibbler ordered chicken and egg with the noodles, this turned out to be wantan ho, one of my favourite dishes with lovely eggy gravy. It's worth noting that both dishes were quite large with plentiful ingredients. Pretty tasty too!

Borneo Treasure Restaurant is located at Marketplace 88.

Hawker Food @ Food Centre 88 - Asia City

Not one of our regular breakfast haunts but somewhere I've been meaning to head back too for a while now, Food Centre 88 offers plenty of choice in a shady outside setting. Some of the stalls were closed today but there were still plenty of hawker favourites too choose from. The Penang Kuey Teaw stall caught my eye, so that was that! Unfortunately not all ingredients were available, luckily this didn't spoil my enjoyment of the dish as it was still very tasty, char siu was the main component along with noodles, egg, beansprouts and Chinese chives, yummy!

Kon Lau Mee was The Little Nibbler's pick, springy noodles with added pork fat, roasted belly pork, egg roll and topped with minced pork and chives.

Keow Teow Goreng @ Blue Ginger Cafe - Wisma Sabah

I remember Blue Ginger Cafe from the first time I came to KK backpacking, which was a few years ago now and it amazes me that it's the first time I've eaten there today! I have to say I was very impressed with my fried keow teow with black bean sauce and chicken, the noodles had that smoky taste you get from a hot wok which works perfectly with the savoury black bean sauce. I can also recommend the fresh juices as the orange juice I had was very tasty and refreshing. Friendly staff and air con along with tasty fresh food makes this a great little cafe!

Blue Ginger Cafe is located in Wisma Sabah.

Keow Teow Goreng @ Restoran Dragon - Dongongan

I've been looking for new makan locations lately and Dongongan is proving to have some great eats! Restoran Dragon caught my eye last time I was wandering around and although I really wanted to visit in the evening (as I'm sure this would be a lively place at night), we where there in the daytime, so what are you going to do?!? Seafood seems to be the main event here but as we were between meals and only looking for a snack we opted for the black bean keow teow with beef to share. Both me and The Nibbler loved this dish, keow teow noodles stir fried with egg, savoury black beans, tender beef and mixed vegetables of onion, green pepper, cabbage and chilli, delicious!

Restoran Dragon occupies one of the large corner lots around Buhavan Square, Dongongan.

The Bill : 1x Keow Teow, 1x Chinese Teh Ping, 1x Kopi C Ping = 8.80 MYR

Keep an eye out for my next night time visit @ Restoran Dragon, Dongongon!
