Foo Chow Kon Lau Mee @ Kedai Kopi Kai Shun - Foh Sang

Foo Chow Kon Lau Mee is a new stall offering this simple but delicious dish in the mornings. Choose your size of dish, some look massive, and your noodles arrive with char siu, roast pork, egg roll and a really tasty mince meat topping along with sliced chives, spring onions and soup. The noodles are yummy with porky goodness, judging from the morning crowds the locals agree too. This is the closest thing to Sarawak Kolo Mee I've come across in KK!

Foo Chow Kon Lau Mee is operating out of Kedai Kopi Kai Shun, Foh Sang, the next block along from Pick 'n' Pay.

The Bill : 1x Kon Lau Mee, 1x Teh C Ping = 9.40 MYR

Could this be the best kon lau mee in KK?

Kuching Kolo Mee & Big Bad Wolf Pork Burger @ Kedai Kopi Kam Lee - Damai

The Little Nibbler had a craving for kolo mee tonight so we thought we'd head back to Kedai Kopi Kam Lee to see if the Sarawakian noodles lived up to The Nibbler's last loving memory of them!

I ordered the char siew kolo mee and was very pleased indeed! You get a generous portion of noodles with minced pork, sliced BBQ char siew, chopped chives and a little green veggie. Mix for maximum enjoyment and pour over the pickled chillis, yummy!

Pork belly kolo mee for The Nibbler, same ingredients as above but char siew is substituted for delicious, sweet tasting, belly pork. Smiles all round, it passed the test!

Big Bad Wolf Pork Burger caught my eye and my appetite, so I ordered a burger too! Who can resist a burger from the Big Bad Wolf ?!?

I really don't think my picture does justice to this wonderful porky treat. The pork patty is flavoursome and juicy and works brilliantly with the toppings of tomato, cucumber, cheese, chilli sauce and the deal clinching yellow mustard. This is one tasty burger!

Kedai Kopi Kam Lee is located in Damai's hawker centre. After looking at the Big Bad Wolf Pork Burger Facebook page, it seems they have 2 outlets, one here and one at Lido.

The Bill : 2x Kolo Mee, 1x Pork Burger, 1x Kitchai Ping, 1x Kopi C Ping = 20 MYR

A pork lovers paradise @ Damai with Kuching Kolo Mee and the Big Bad Wolf Pork Burger!!!

Hit 'n' Miss @ Kedai Kopi Kam Lee - Damai

It was a tale of two meals tonight at Kedai Kopi Kam Lee, a most definite hit and unfortunately, for me, a terrible miss! From what I could see there's four vendors operating from inside the coffee shop, offering western food, Penang kuih teow, Kuching kolo mee and dishes with rice. I'd like to add that most of the food coming out looked pretty good.

The Little Nibbler fancied the Kuching kolo mee with belly pork, savoury sweet, pork belly mixed with noodles, mince pork and some greens, really tasty, I know I got to have a taste! A great dish for 5 ringgit

I opted for the Japanese tofu with mince pork and rice, which looked quite appetizing on the picture menu, but when it arrived was covered in frozen mixed veg (my very least favourite thing) and the two mouthfuls I had, had gristle in the mince pork, sorry but a terrible miss!

Kitchai pings all round!

Kedai Kopi Kam Lee is located in the buzzing hawker alley of Damai.

The Bill : 1x Kolo Mee, 1x Japanese Tofu, 2x Kitchai Ping = 16 MYR

Be sure to try the Kolo Mee here, I'll be back for some and I'll probably try the Penang Kuih Teow too!!!

Sarawak Kolo Mee - Chinese Barbecue Specialist - Jalan Padungan

Back at Chinese Barbecue Specialist, this time for a delicious bowl of Sarawak Kolo Mee. We first discovered this dish on a previous visit to Kuching. We decided to sample it this time at CBS, being drawn in by the tempting photographs displayed on the vendor's counter. I'm pleased to say the Kolo Mee didn't disappoint, and check out that price!!!

The red kolo mee caught my eye, which was in fact chilli sauce, quite mild not too hot. The sauce went lovely with the noodles, char sui and minced pork.

The Little Nibbler had the regular kolo me, basically the same ingredients as above but without the added chilli sauce.
Thumbs up all round!

All washed down with a Kopi O Ping and a Ice Lemon Tea.

The Bill : 2x Kolo Mee, 2x Drinks = 7.90 MYR

I cannot recommend Chinese Barbecue Specialist enough, next time you're in Kuching pop in for a bite to eat!
