Fish Noodle @ Kedai Kopi Sin Houng Kee - Bandaran Berjaya

When you can't park your car anywhere near a restaurant that's also pretty much full the chances are it's going to be good! With a little bit of perseverance I finally managed to park (a street or so away) and had the good fortune to bag a table at Kedai Kopi Sin Houng Kee. Fish noodle soup in all its forms is the order of the day here, so I had mine with fresh fish slice and mee hoon. The soup is fresh and light with tomatoes and tofu, slices of fresh fish are exactly that and the whole experience leaves you satisfied with a healthy glow!

Kedai Kopi Sin Houng Kee is located in Bandaran Berjaya, on the same street as Century Hotel.

Mixed Fish Noodle @ Madam Ing Fish Noodle - Towering

I'm very happy with my food find today, noticing the sign for 'Fish Noodle' from the main road and deciding to do some investigating! I've never eaten in this part of town before, mainly because I thought it was, well, kind of industrial, but looking around there seems to be a few good eating options - watch this space! Madam Ing Fish Noodle occupies a double lot, one inside and one semi outside (no exterior walls), giving the impression of being outside, both are bright and clean. With the help of the waiter I ordered mixed fish with meehoon in tomato and tofu soup. The fresh tasting soup was packed with noodles, and fish things, including, fish cake slice, fish ball, fresh fish slice (which was very fresh) and a few other bits that I don't know the name of!!! One thing that I really enjoyed that I havn't eaten before, or know the name of was a kind of egg dumpling fritter thing, very tasty. To give the soup extra zing there's fierce chilli sambal and calamansi to add if you wish.

Madam Ing's is located just off Jalan Penampang at Towering, in the new looking shop lots.

Fish Mee @ Kedai Kopi Yung Hwa - Damai

I've passed by this very busy coffee shop many times in the mornings and peered in, wondering what all the fuss was about! Never being bothered to wait for a table. This morning when I walked passed my luck was in as a table was free, so I took my place and eventually ordered what was explained to me as noodles made from fish with fishy bits! Everything was fresh tasting and I'm guessing homemade, from the fish mee, which tasted a lot like fish cake slices but in longer strips to represent noodles to the 'fishy bits'. Fried wontons, fried fish cake slice, fish ball and some kind of fish ball surrounding a slice of chilli and duan sup were swimming in a light fish broth, but not overly fishy if you understand what I mean??? It tasted fresh and healthy, and I for one quite liked it! Next time I might try the curry version or possibly the kon lau mee.

Kedai Kopi Yung Hwa is located at Damai in the shop lots that run alongside Jalan Damai.

Fatt Kee Mixed Fish Soup @ Jin Jin Seafood Restaurant - Hilltop

It's been a while since we breakfasted at Fatt Kee's, operating daily from Jin Jin Seafood Restaurant. The fish meehoon soup here is famous in KK and rightly so in my opinion! I had the mixed fish for the first time, various fish products including fried fish slice, fish ball and fried fish cake slices were amongst some other things all swimming in the delightfully fresh tasting tomato broth, this soup really is delicious!

The Little Nibbler opted for fresh fish slice, which was jam packed with fresh ingredients.

We opted for a side dish of fish paste dumplings but also got some fried fish cake slices too, haha oh well! These were served with a sweet chilli dipping sauce.

Jin Jin Seafood Restaurant is located at Hilltop, just look for the crowds!

Fish Slice Meehoon Soup @ Jin Jin Seafood Restaurant - Hilltop

"Wow!" That's what can usually be heard coming from my direction while I'm eating this amazing soup for breakfast, this has to be one of the tastiest dishes in KK! Haha, you might hear that a lot from me in this blog, oh well! My pick today is the Fresh Fish Slice Mehoon, the fish is very fresh and plentiful, even the skin on the fish, which I thought I'd discard, is very good. I like to dip the fish in soy or chilli sauce before eating. The soup is extremely tasty, packed with tomatoes and topped with coriander, it's so sweet and delicious. Words fail me when trying to describe this dish it's simply amazing, a must try.

Here's the menu, lots on offer apart from my pick. Watch this space for the Tom Yam Mee.

Jin Jin Seafood Restaurant is no secret to the people of KK. It's packed everyday with happy diners.
I don't have opening hours but I do know that the menu above is available during the mornings, possibly lunchtime, so my advice would be don't come late because you might miss out!

The Bill : Fresh Fish Slice Meehoon, Chinese Teh Ping = 10.60 MYR

In my opinion every seafood lover should eat this dish at least once in their life, preferably more. Do yourself a favour head out to Hilltop today, it's guaranteed to make you happy!
