Chinese BBQ @ Restoran Lim Kee - Inanam

What a fantastic find this restaurant was! I first spotted this shop, or actually it's ducks hanging from the shop front, when The Little Nibbler and I were looking around Inanam for new places to eat. When we returned to Restoran Lim Kee today the place was packed and we had to wait for a table, always a good sign in my book! Lim Kee specialises in Chinese BBQ meats, I for one didn't realise that there was so much choice and variety! We ordered a 3 mix plate with rice and noodles, unfortunately the oil rice was habis and it was only lunch time! Oh well we'll plan an earlier visit next time! So for our 3 mix plate we chose spiced duck - awesome, honey chicken - delicious and BBQ spare ribs -wow! This has to be THE place in KK for BBQ meats, if you know of another great place, then please let me know! All the meats were super tasty drenched in the accompanying sweet tangy sauce, I just can't wait for my next visit!

Tasty noodles with green veg.

Here's the menu, there were lots of orders for tapau too.

Restoran Lim Kee is located at Inanam.

The Bill : 3 Mix Plate, 1x Noodles, 1x Nasi Putih, 1x Teh C Ping, 1x Kopi C Ping = 25 MYR

Lim Kee's is a must for lovers of Chinese BBQ!

Biryani Friday @ TFC Cafe Kebab Restoran - Inanam

Biryani Friday this week takes us to Taliban Food Centre's new restaurant, TFC Kebab Restoran. A name which I find a little confusing as there was not a single kebab in sight!!! Never mind as I was here for biryani anyway. At TFC you can have your biryani in a set that comes with tandoori chicken along with curry gravy, spicy sambal and poppadom. I have to say I was slightly disappointed as both the chicken and the biryani were on the dry side, tasty enough but dry! Also I was given fish curry gravy, surely chicken would have been a better option!

The Little Nibbler opted for the kima naan set, a small portion of spicy kima to dip your tasty naan into. This was the winning dish, the naan were as good here as Talibans other restaurant at the long distance bus terminal.

TFC Kebab Restoran occupies a large space on Jalan Taipan, Inanam.

The Bill : 1x Tandoori Biryani, 1x Kima Naan, 1x Kopi C Ping, 1x Teh Tarik = 19 MYR

Would return for naans and possibly ask the question, where's the kebabs?!?!

Curry Laksa & Kon Low Mein @ Kedai Kopi Wan Soon Hin - Inanam

This was our first visit to Kedai Kopi Wan Soon Hin, we spotted it a few weeks ago when we were looking for places to eat in Inanam. It looked very busy and popular then, and it certainly was this morning. I'm sure this shop is well known to the good people of KK, and I'm very pleased we found it! By the looks of things, roasted and BBQ meat is the speciality of the house here, looking so mouth watering displayed in the cabinet!

Even though the display looked so tempting my craving for Laksa has been quite overpowering lately, so Seafood Curry Laksa was my pick for this mornings breakfast. Now this laksa is one for the spice lover, it's more spicier than a regular laksa and possibly thicker too making it a very filling dish. Fresh fish slices, prawns and beancurd puffs make up the main ingredients, as well as your choice of noodles, topped with fresh corriander. A hearty breakfast indeed!!!

Any regular readers of this blog may well be aware of The Little Nibblers love of  Kon Lau Mee, Kon Law Mee or here at this coffee shop Kon Low Mein! I wonder what the correct spelling is? Or are they all different dishes, I don't believe so, but hey, who knows!?!?
Anyway back to the food. With lots of tasty meat to choose from pork took The Nibblers fancy so a mix of Char Siu and Roast Pork Belly was added with the savoury noodles, topped with some pork crackling. Happy eaters all round!

Teh C Special & Kopi C Ping.

Kedai Kopi Wan Soon Hin is located in Inanam along Jalan Kiansom just off Jalan Tuaran.

The Bill : 1x Laksa, 1x Kon Low Mein, 1x Teh C Special, 1x Kopi C Ping = 22.50 MYR

Can't wait for my return visit to sample some delicious looking roasted and BBQ meat.

Laksa @ Kedai Kopi Laksa Dan Makanan - Inanam

Looking for new places to eat, we decided to leave the city centre behind and headed to Inanam for our culinary adventures. It's an area we havn't really explored, generally sticking to the shoplots around the long distance bus station, mainly to go to Taliban Food Centre for their tandoori chicken and naan. So we took the plunge and went exploring, let me tell you it looks like there's some excellent coffee shops in the area, watch this space for future (hopefully delicious) food blogs!

It wasn't long before Kedai Kopi Laksa Dan Makanan caught our eye, firstly because of the large bright yellow sign, and secondly being Laksa lovers who can resist a coffee shop with Laksa in the title! Not me or The Little Nibbler thats for sure!!! There seemed to be 3 vendors operating out of the shop, but with Laksa in our heads what other choice could it be? I chose the above Laksa with added poached egg, a great addition. Both soups came with shredded chicken, omelette strips, beancurd puffs and fried fishcake slices. You get a generous portion of ingredients in your bowl, though it has to be said, taste wise, it was quite mild for our taste, I soon pepped mine up with sambal!

Kedai Kopi Laksa Dan Makanan is located off Jalan Tuaran, basically the next shoplots past Talibans, take a left at the round about and it shouldn't be hard to find. To be honest I'm sure this restaurant is no secret to the good people of KK!

The Bill : 2x Laksa, 1x Kitchai Ping, 1x Kopi C Ping = 13.40 MYR

More great food in KK, watch out Inanam I'm coming your way!!!

Tandoori Chicken @ Taliban Food Centre - Inanam

I love the Tandoori Chicken and Naan Bread at Taliban Food Centre, a friend introduced me to the place over a year ago and I've been going back regularly ever since!
A fantastic spicy homemade chutney is served with the chicken along with dahl and a wonderful naan bread. There are different sets to choose from depending on the type of naan you like, here we had plain naans. There's also nasi campur available, as well as other items.

Tah Tarik and Ice Lemon Teh.

Taliban Food Centre is located at the long distance bus station at Inanam.

The Bill = 2x Tandoori Chicken Set, 1x Teh Tarik, 1x Ice Lemon Teh = 19.30 MYR

It's definitely worth the trip out of town to Taliban's for Chicken and Naan!
