Italian Food @ Gusto Food & Wine - Waterfront

Bruschetta Romano
We started our lovely meal with some bruschetta. Sliced and toasted or griddled crusty bread, topped with pomodoro (Italian for tomato), garlic, basil and extra virgin olive oil. Fresh and simple but oh so tasty!

Rigatoni Gusto
Here's my pasta pick tonight, named after the restaurant (and quite possibly the chef), rigatoni pasta served with Italian truffle sauce and mushrooms. This dish was lovely and mushroomy, sprinkled with parmesan, I just wanted to lick the plate clean!

Rigatoni Norma
The Little Nibbler went for 'Sicily's favourite', rigatoni pasta in a deep tomato sauce with aubergine and topped with a sprinkling of Italian hard cheese, again very delicious!

Tiramisu
We ended our meal with Italy's classic and timeless dessert, lovely!

Bottle of House White Wine
Gusto's has a fantastic wine list, we opted for the house white, a chardonnay which was very enjoyable and drinkable too!

Gusto Food & Wine is located along KK's Waterfront and you can find it at the very beginning or at the very end, depending on which way you look at it!

Can't recommend Gusto's enough, great tasting, fresh Italian food from a hardworking 2 man (sorry, 1 man 1 lady) team.

Western Food @ Aubergine - Marketplace 88

This was our first outing to Aubergine, I doubt it will be our last! We decided to begin with a starter and shared the Aubergine Bruschetta, 4 slices of crispy french bread spread with olive tapenade, each topped with a slice of baked aubergine with lots of goey melted cheese, and finally sprinkled with paprika and parmesan. A really great start to our meal!

For the main event I chose the 'Say Cheese' Burger. A homemade burger loaded with cheese, salad, sauces and topped with fried, tempura style sliced onions. The overall taste was pretty good, though for me I prefer a meatier texture burger and found Aubergine's a bit too soft. The crispy, spicy fries were excellent dunked in the mustard mayo.

The Little Nibbler bit off more than she could chew with Aubergine's grilled Lamb, lucky old me! hehe. This one's definitely for the carnivore, 3 grilled lamb shoulders smothered in mild harissa and served with a choice of two sides. The Nibbler opted for sweet purple puree and cafe de Paris butter. The harissa adds a nice twist to the lamb.

Aubergine is located at Marketplace 88, on the first block as you head in from Jalan Pintas.
