Chinese Food @ Restaurant Beaufort - Taman Land Breeze

One of my favourite restaurants in KK, I've been following this place around town since the fire that gutted the shop on Jalan Penampang, hopefully now, fingers crossed it has a fixed location! The new restaurant is big, bright and spotlessly clean with helpful, friendly staff. With the added bonus of an English menu I can happily order to my hearts content! Sweet & Sour Fish took my fancy and it came packed with fresh fish and vegetables, including red and green peppers, onion, cucumber and red chilli for a bit of heat, served with nasi putih, yum!

The Little Nibbler opted for dry style Beaufort Noodles with Seafood, the noodles were savoury and fried with fresh fish slice, prawns and squid as well as a little green veggie, excellent, though it has to be said we both do prefer the wet style variety.

We also ordered the Char Siu Omelette, pretty self explanatory, with added onions and chives, I really enjoyed this.

Restaurant Beaufort is now located literally around the corner from its original shop on Jalan Penampang, and is now in Taman Land Breeze.

Chinese Food @ Restaurant Happy - Foh Sang

We headed out tonight to Foh Sang to try Restaurant Happy's newer branch. Inside it's bright, clean and colourful pretty much the same as the original Kingfisher branch. We ordered sweet & sour pork, stir fried sweet potato leaves, rice and drinks. The sweet & sour pork was pretty standard, meaty chunks in batter with onion, tomato, cucumber and peppers in a gloopy sauce.

I really enjoyed the sweet potato leaves stir fried in garlic, the deep green colour of the veggies makes me believe I'm being healthy!

Restaurant Happy is located in Foh Sang, next door to Kedai Kopi Daily.

Good, honest Chinese food @ Restaurant Happy, look out for the great value 7 ringgit rice plates!

Chinese Food @ How Lee Coffee Shop - Foh Sang

Usually when we can't decide which restaurant or kedai kopi to go to, we decide on an area and then have a wonder around, check out where's busy and what looks good. Every time we go to Foh Sang, How Lee Coffee Shop is always packed! So if the good people of KK think it's worth a visit then who are we to disagree!!! Luckily there was a table spare so we sat down and a helpful waiter took our order, the menu's on the wall...and...well... my Mandarin isn't quite what it should be so the waiter gave us a hand. I decided on Sweet & Sour Fish Slice with rice. Meaty, fresh, fish slices, lightly battered and fried with onion, pepper, tomato, and cucumber in a tangy sauce. Yummy!

The Little Nibbler had the Kon Lau Mee, which looked to be the coffee shop speciality along with porridge, as everyone seemed to have these orders on their table. Noodles came with chicken, pork, meatball and choy sum. The dish was seasoned with pepper, which The Nibbler wasn't over the moon about but I thought they tasted great!

We also had an order of Sayur Manis with Egg, this was really tasty.

How Lee Coffee Shop is located in Foh Sang opposite Ron's Kopitiam.

How Lee, another great reason to head to Foh Sang!

Chinese Food @ Ang's - Downtown

You know just by looking at the crowds inside and out, that Ang's is just going to be good, and it is! It rarely disappoints, though tonight there was one grumble, but more of that later. My pick tonight was the Sweet and Sour Fish Slice, delicious. Meaty slices of fish with a tangy sweet and sour sauce with onions and pineapple.

The Little Nibbler opted for Braised Beancurd with Minced Meat, this came in a thick, savoury sauce with mushrooms and chinese chives, really tasty. There's also a choice between local beancurd and Japanese, this is the local variety.

This was the only let down of the night, the fried rice was way too stodgy, possibly from not letting the rice cool down enough before stir frying. Only cold rice will produce a good fried rice!

Ang's is open and busy, lunch and dinner! Located Downtown on the same block as Little Italy.

You may have to wait, but it's worth it!
