There's a real buzz in cyberspace about the newly opened I Lotus Seafood Restaurant so I thought it was time The Nibbler and I took a look! First of all the restaurant is spotless and clean, as you would hope for, being brand new, the staff were nice and friendly too, another plus. Private dining areas are available, there's also a shady outside eating area. One drawback for us though, was that there were no menus available, but hey this is nothing new, so we ordered off the printed flyers that were on the table. On closer inspection there were printed menus of banquet style set menus on the wall, but as we were only two.....
First up we ordered the special coconut prawn, served in a green coconut the prawns were ready shelled and smothered in a delicious creamy sauce, with a quick swirl of the spoon you also get some lovely young coconut flesh to add into the mix! A sweet fried bun comes as an accompaniment, I wish there were two! Very tasty indeed, thumbs up all round!
Next we ordered the Thai Bamboo Chicken, initially thinking the dish was cooked in the bamboo, we think infact it's just the serving method. This dish had classic Thai curry spice again with lovely coconut milk, and an assortment of vegetables, delicious! Though for a more rounded meal we really needed some veggies and we wouldn't order these two dishes together again, but just to be clear both dishes were wonderful!
I Lotus is located at Kepayan Point which are the new shoplots basically across the road from Grand Millennium Plaza.
