Nasi Biryani @ Passage Thru India - KL LCCT

This was my first time in this eatery at KL LCCT and I wasn't disappointed even if the price was a little mahal! But hey we're at an airport, what do you expect?
I opted for the Nasi Biryani Set (18MYR) the rice was fragrant and cooked perfectly served with a small portion of potato and green pepper spicy curry which was delicious, I could have eaten a lot more! Also served were Lady's Fingers and two Dahls, one with chickpeas, all very tasty indeed. Topped with a poppadom!

The Little Nibbler opted for a la carte and ordered plain rice, dahl and a poppadom (10MYR) Which was enjoyed almost as much as mine I think! Haha

Passage Thru India advertises itself as 'Pure Veg' so along with no meat there should also be no onion or garlic present in the food!

Passage Thru India is located on the outside of the airport, if you're looking out of the airport's main entrance walk along the left hand side.

Hungry between flights? You can do a lot worse than give Passage Thru India a try - Great tasting pure veg Indian food!

Chinese Food @ Ang's - Downtown

You know just by looking at the crowds inside and out, that Ang's is just going to be good, and it is! It rarely disappoints, though tonight there was one grumble, but more of that later. My pick tonight was the Sweet and Sour Fish Slice, delicious. Meaty slices of fish with a tangy sweet and sour sauce with onions and pineapple. 

The Little Nibbler opted for Braised Beancurd with Minced Meat, this came in a thick, savoury sauce with mushrooms and chinese chives, really tasty. There's also a choice between local beancurd and Japanese, this is the local variety.

This was the only let down of the night, the fried rice was way too stodgy, possibly from not letting the rice cool down enough before stir frying. Only cold rice will produce a good fried rice!

Ang's is open and busy, lunch and dinner! Located Downtown on the same block as Little Italy.

You may have to wait, but it's worth it!

Tandoori Chicken @ Taliban Food Centre - Inanam

I love the Tandoori Chicken and Naan Bread at Taliban Food Centre, a friend introduced me to the place over a year ago and I've been going back regularly ever since!
A fantastic spicy homemade chutney is served with the chicken along with dahl and a wonderful naan bread. There are different sets to choose from depending on the type of naan you like, here we had plain naans. There's also nasi campur available, as well as other items.

Tah Tarik and Ice Lemon Teh.

Taliban Food Centre is located at the long distance bus station at Inanam.

The Bill = 2x Tandoori Chicken Set, 1x Teh Tarik, 1x Ice Lemon Teh = 19.30 MYR

It's definitely worth the trip out of town to Taliban's for Chicken and Naan! 

Drinks @ Kasih Sayang Resort - Kokol Hill

You really can't beat Kasih Sayang Resort for the views - truly amazing! There's fantastic vistas on the drive up too, but keep an eye on the road because it twists and turns as it heads skywards! It's a great spot (did I mention the views) but the food unfortunately is not very good (well not when I've eaten here) and a bit over priced. The drinks are a bit pricey too but are a much safer bet! Today we opted for a refreshing mint infused ice lemon tea to enjoy with our scenery.

Amazing views over KK and the Crocker Range.

Kasih Sayang is located on Kokol Hill about 40mins out of KK. Drive past Inanam and Menggatal Town then keep an eye out for the sign post, you can also look out for the Poring-Poring turn off.

Nasi Ayam & Snacks @ Wishbone - Jalan Gaya

I wasn't feeling too hungry this evening so I opted for snacks while The Nibbler enjoyed Wishbone's Nasi Ayam. No complaints here, everything was nice and tasty, or so I was told, I'll just have to come back and try for myself sometime soon!

Now these are no ordinary Curry Puffs, oh no! These are Giant Curry Puffs and wow were they good! Chicken curry, potatoes, and a slice of egg come inside these whoppers.

I also tried their Pisang Goreng with Gula Malacca Ice Cream (did I say I wasn't hungry?) They were ok nothing special but I did like the deep caramel flavoured ice cream.

Cold refreshing ice blended Mango drinks.

Wishbone is a bright, clean restaurant located along Jalan Gaya open in the daytime as well as in the evening.

Nasi Biryani Ayam @ Mekar Restaurant - Wisma Merdeka

Many times I've been tempted into Mekar Restaurant but havn't wandered in until today. The main draw for me is the two huge cooking pots I always eye up when walking past, in one Nasi Biryani, the other a dark bubbling curry, today it was Chicken Curry. The Nasi Biryani was fragrant and good, the dark ominous curry was so so tasty possibly the most flavoursome curry I've tasted in KK! Unfortunately the only drawback was the chicken, it was so dry, it was breast meat which can be drier than other meat but even still it was very very dry. Achar was served as a side along with a bowl of soup. I ordered a cold Teh Tarik as this is my favourite drink to go with spicy curries!

Mekar Restaurant is located on the third floor of Wisma Merdeka just outside of the main food court.

The Bill : Nasi Biryani Ayam, Teh Tarik Ping = 11 MYR

Even though the meat was way too dry I'll be back to taste that curry - you couldn't stop me!

Tom Yam @ Jin Jin Seafood Restaurant - Hilltop

Jin Jin Seafood Restaurant is a very popular breakfast spot and rightly so. Their Fish Slice Mee Hoon Soup is amazing! This morning I thought I'd have a change and try their Tom Yam soup, I opted for prawn and fresh fish slice mix. The seafood tasted so fresh in the spicy aromatic soup with hints of chilli, ginger and lemongrass. You can taste the quality in the ingredients. It doesn't rank as the best for my taste but it's right up there and shouldn't disappoint.

The Little Nibler opted for the old favourite of Mixed Fish Slice Meehoon, mixing together fresh and fried fish slice in that wonderful sweet tomato broth.

We saw a lot of people this morning with this extra side dish, Fried Fish Cake Slice, so we thought we'd give it a try. I wasn't too impressed but the Nibbler enjoyed it. It was served with a sweet Thai style chilli sauce.

All I can say is come early to avoid disappointment! In the evening a different vendor operates from the restaurant.
